Frequently Asked Questions:What is Intuitive’s .NET strategy?Intuitive began investigating .NET in June 2000, and quickly realized the tide-change that this new technology platform would bring. Intuitive promptly committed to a plan to make Intuitive ERP the first ERP software product on the market to be 100% .NET. Only a goal of being “pure .NET” would deliver to our customers all the benefits of .NET including ease of installation and administration that are so important to IT departments and system administrators. We also committed to introduce our new pure .NET software into Intuitive ERP through our normal sequence of upgrade releases. Thus, our current customer base would gradually migrate to .NET as the Intuitive ERP product was gradually transformed to pure .NET. The transformation entails converting or rewriting every single line of software code and modifying the Intuitive ERP architectural design to leverage the many benefits of the .NET platform. An ERP system is like a house. Beneath the house is a foundation. Intuitive spent 18 months designing a new foundation that takes full advantage of .NET, XML, and the new features of Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Our current product has a pure .NET managed code framework and 50% of the standard product functionality has been completely rewritten in .NET. The next major release of Intuitive ERP will be 100% .NET managed code.
