Intuitive to unveil Microsoft .NET-based version of their enterprise solution, Intuitive ERP 7.0

Kirkland, Washington – January 21, 2004 – Intuitive Manufacturing Systems, a leading provider of enterprise resource planning software for small and medium-sized manufacturers, announced today the beta release of Intuitive ERP 7.0, the only enterprise software solution with a pure Microsoft .NET managed code framework and over 50 percent of standard product functionality released in .NET. General availability is slated for March 2004.

“Microsoft .NET allows us to build better software for our customers,” said Sara Gillam, CEO of Intuitive. “However, the only way to truly be able to deliver all the benefits of this new technology was to create a new application architecture using nothing but Microsoft .NET.” To reach their goal of being a pure .NET solution, Intuitive spent 18 months designing a new architecture that takes full advantage of .NET, XML, and the new features of Microsoft SQL Server. With the release of Intuitive ERP 7.0, 50 percent of the product is in the new architecture and is 100% .NET managed code.

This substantial product redesign allows Intuitive ERP to take advantage of the many new features of the .NET platform, satisfy the industry’s e-business requirements, and better position the product to adapt to even more advanced technology in the future. And the software’s application interconnectivity is built-in, not bolted-on. “This is the next generation of enterprise software,” said Will Hansen, vice president of technology of Intuitive. “The .NET framework gives us the ability to develop software with less code in less time, which means the system is faster, more robust, has fewer bugs, is easier to modify, and we can provide innovative new features at a pace that will blow away the competition.”

Key enhancements found in Intuitive ERP 7.0 include, among others:

A.NET sales cycle, from quoting through order entry to accounts receivable
A .NET “Planner’s Workbench”, MRP engine, ATP/CTP engine, and sales forecasting
Support of rich media files across the system
A .NET Request For Quote (RFQ) system
Complete “cradle to grave” serial number traceability
.NET payroll and H/R modules

System-wide enhancements in Version 7.0 include a rich new user interface designed to enhance usability and streamline work flow. User-customizable entry screens allow users to view and enter information exactly as they would like to see it, and new menu functionality allows each user to create a personalized “My Menu” without ever leaving the screen. The pure .NET architecture of Intuitive ERP 7.0 also enables increased processing speeds, easier system administration and enhanced compatibility and connectivity with other software programs.

Beginning January 22, 2004, free seminars will be held in 30 cities across the United States to educate the manufacturing community about the benefits of ERP technology based on Microsoft .NET and to demonstrate Intuitive’s .NET ERP solution.
