Synergy 06 Conference Recap
The conference sessions
kicked off on Tuesday morning with a
presentation to the entire crowd by Intuitive
CEO Chuck Gillam, where he communicated the
company’s roadmap for the future, giving the
Intuitive user community a better understanding
of who Intuitive is today and where the company
and the product is going.
From there, attendees divided their time
between six simultaneous conference rooms with
more than 60 sessions presented over the next 4
days. Attendee’s highlights include:
Ask
the Experts – All of Intuitive’s consulting
staff and field product engineers were present
at Synergy 06 and manned the “Ask the Expert”
area, where attendees could come at any time
throughout the conference with questions or
issues and work one-on-one with an expert to get
them resolved. Many customers took full
advantage and received hours of consulting at no
cost beyond the conference fees – what a
value!
.NET modification training – For the
developers in the bunch, this was a popular
track, where attendees could learn how to use
the development tools Intuitive has created
leveraging .NET technology to do their own
custom modification projects.
“Day in the Life” series – A new track
to Synergy this year, it focused on how to
better use the tools that exist in Intuitive ERP
to do your daily job as a buyer, planner,
scheduler, or in order entry. These sessions
were a big hit!
“What’s New in 8.0” series – This
series of sessions explored the new features and
enhancements of version 8.0 including ECO, AML,
MPS, CTP range planning, and more. Attendees
appreciated the opportunity to learn about
upcoming Intuitive ERP functionality.
Fun Events
Even though sessions ran until 9pm on more
than one night, we still made room for fun! Monday’s
welcome reception on the Palm Terrace at the
Omni Hotel set the tone for the week. On
Wednesday night, all gathered for a dinner
cruise of the San Diego Harbor aboard the
beautiful 158 foot luxury yacht, the California
Spirit. This event appeared on more than one
evaluation as a favorite conference session! And
Friday night, many attendees opted to catch the
Padres vs. Cubs game at Petco Park, only a
skybridge walk away from the Omni hotel.
